Service begins approximately two hours prior to game time with continuing service until approximately one-and-a-half hours after the game ends. There is a charge for parking at the Phoenix Center. The shuttle bus drop-off and pick-up point is located outside the West Gate to the rear of the parking lot. The Smart Shuttle also has wheelchair accessible buses and disabled assistance to and from the shuttle drop-off point and the Silverdome West Gate.Handicap Parking
Handicap parking is available in the first rows of parking closest to the entrance gates, as well as the first rows at the Press and Main Event Restaurant entrances. Spaces are clearly marked with the universal handicap symbol in blue. You must have a state-issued permit to park in these spaces. Violators will be ticketed and towed. Parking is on a first-come, first-served basis.
During Lions games, because the parking lot is pre-sold, handicap parking must be purchased in advance at the Silverdome Ticket Office. No parking will be sold on the day of the game.
NOTE: Silverdome Main Parking Lot is sold out.
The Silverdome Main parking lot is sold out for the 2001 Detroit Lions' season. Spaces were sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Although the Main Lot is sold out, prepaid parking is available in the Auxiliary Lot.
The Silverdome Auxiliary Lot is located south of M-59 on Opdyke Rd. (next to the Shell gas station). This lot is accessible from eastbound M-59 and Opdyke. A pedestrian walkway leads directly to the Silverdome South Gate (See map below). (Please note, the Auxiliary Lot does not have a wheelchair accessible pathway to the Silverdome.)
Prepaid parking passes also are honored at the Phoenix Center parking deck at the corner of Saginaw and Water streets in downtown Pontiac. The free S.M.A.R.T. shuttle bus service to and from the stadium begins two hours prior to game time and run continuously until one-and-a-half hours after the game ends.
Recreational vehicles, motor homes, or any combination of vehicle and trailer large enough to occupy more than one parking space will require additional prepaid parking passes. Each parking space is 8.5 feet by 17 feet.
Tailgating is allowed in the Silverdome Auxiliary Lot. Tailgaters may only occupy the number of parking spaces purchased and saving of spaces is not allowed. Open consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited and tickets will be issued to any patrons abusing alcohol policies. This policy is strictly enforced. Propane barbecue grills are permitted; however, charcoal and log fires are prohibited by the fire marshal.
Individual parking passes will be available after the 1st game for the Silverdome Auxiliary Lot.
